The idea
Hofladen Wallis is shared infrastructure for Valais producers. A farm shop of your own costs construction, permits, checkout and presence. Here the site carries that.
Why at the Landwirtschaftszentrum Visp
The site trains, produces and sells in the same place. School classes learn here how farming works. Whoever shops stands in the middle of it. The canton of Valais and the municipality of Visp provide the site.
Why low fixed costs
The farm shop runs on little staff. Producers record their goods at home and check them in themselves. That keeps the margin low and the shelf price competitive. Regional produce rarely fails on conviction, mostly on price.
Why a Quartier
The petting zoo, the playground and the coffee corner belong to the site. They turn a purchase into a stay. The meeting place grows from the people who come.
A canton pilot
Hofladen Wallis is the first project of its kind in the canton. What works here can be repeated elsewhere.
